Overview
The Food Diary, Activity Log, and Results Log all feature a "My" List View in on the left side of their respective pages. The purpose of the "My" lists are to make frequently used items readily available. The My lists also allow for the customization of items, so that your preferences for settings such as portion size can be remembered and automatically used the next time you add that item to a diary view.
Adding an Item to "My" List
There are three ways to add an item to a My list view. You can use Search to add an existing Figwee item to the list. You can add to the list from a corresponding diary entry. Or, for some views, you can create an item from scratch and enter it manually.
Add Using Search
Search will allow you to look for an item in the Figwee database to enter into the list view. Call up search by clicking the Add button at the top right of the My view.
In the search box, type in the first few letters of the name of the item. As you type, Search will show photos of matching items. When you see the item you wish to add to the list, just click on the photo. The Search dialog will close and the item will have been added to the My list view.
Add From Diary View
You can also add an item to the list from the corresponding "Diary" view. You can add a "My" item from the diary view by clicking on the "heart" button next to the diary list item.
Manually Add an Item
For some views, such as the My Foods view, you can create a brand new item from scratch, manually entering all of the information yourself. To add a brand new item, click on the "star" button at the top of the My list view.
Removing an Item From the List
To remove an item from the list view, simply click the "X" button for the item you wish to remove. A dialog box will come up asking you to confirm the removal. Note that removing a custom item from My List (one you entered manually yourself) will permanently delete it from the database. It will not impact historical diary entries, but the item will no longer be available to add to future diary entries. Of course, you can always re-create the item again if the need arises.
Editing an Item
Each of the different My list views offer a means of editing items. For example, the My Foods list allows you to adjust the portion size, the My Activities list the duration and intensity of the exercise. To edit a My list item, click the "pencil" button next to the item you wish to edit.
Renaming an Item
You can change the name of any My list item. To do so, right click on the item you wish to change and select "Rename..." from the context menu. A dialog will display allowing you to change the name of the item. Any future diary entry will use the updated item name.
Using a My List Item
You can add a My list item to its diary view by one of three ways:
You can click on the item photo...
You can click on "plus" button for the My list item...
Or you can click on the item photo and drag and drop it on the diary view...
Making it Easier. Drag and Drop can be a little tricky on some internet browsers and slower computers. The fastest way to add a My list item to its diary view is probably to click on the item photo. Hold your mouse still when clicking on the My item photo, lest your browser think you are tring to initiate a drag and drop operation.
Grouping Items By Color
If you right-click on an item in the My list view, a special context menu will appear. A group of choices on this menu allow you to set a tab color for the item. The meaning of the colors is up to you...this is simply a way for you to arbitrarily organize your list items. See below for how to sort the list by color.
Sorting the List
You can sort the My list by right clicking on an item in the list view and choosing the sort order from the context menu. The available sort options depend on the specific My list view. For example, in the My Foods view, you can sort by the food item name, the number of calories in the item, or by your selected color. Other My list views will have different sort choices.
Printing the List
You can print a My list view by clicking on the little printer button in the list view header. When you do, a new browser window will open with only the items from the list view displayed against a plain background. Your computer's standard print dialog will automatically be invoked.
My List Items in Diary Search. All of your My list items are also available from the Search dialog when adding to a diary view. That is, to use a My list item, you can either find it in the My list view, or you can click on the Add button above the diary view and search for it along with the built in Figwee items.
