Overview

The My Foods list makes frequently used foods readily available for quick addition to the Food Diary. My Foods also allows you to customize foods so that your preferences for settings such as portion size can be remembered and automatically used the next time you add that food to the diary view.

Adding an Item to My Foods

There are three ways to add a food to a My Foods. You can use Search to add an existing Figwee food to the list. You can add to My Foods from a Food Diary entry. Or, you can create a new food from scratch and enter it manually.

Add Using Search

Figwee My View Invoking Search

Search will allow you to look for an item in the Figwee database to enter into My Foods. Call up search by clicking the Add button at the top right of the My Foods area.

Figwee Search Results

In the search box, type in the first few letters of the name of the food. As you type, Search will show photos of matching foods. When you see the item you wish to add to My Foods, just click on the photo. The Search dialog will close and the food will have been added to the My Foods list.

Add From the Food Diary

You can also add a food to My Foods from the "Food Diary". You do this by clicking on the "heart" button next to the food diary item.

Manually Add an Item

Figwee My View Add New

My Foods allows you to create a brand new item from scratch, manually entering all of the information yourself. To add a brand new item, click on the "star" button at the top of the My Foods list. See Add New Food for more on how to add a custom food to the database.

Removing a My Foods Item

Figwee Remove Item From My Foods

To remove an item from My Foods, simply click the "X" button for the item you wish to remove. A dialog box will come up asking you to confirm the removal. Note that removing a custom food item from My Foods (one you entered manually yourself) will permanently delete it from the database. It will not impact historical Food Diary entries, but the custom food will no longer be available to add in the future. Of course, you can always re-create the item again if the need arises.

Editing a My Foods Item

Edit My Foods Item

There are three ways to edit a My Foods item. First, you can simply rename it (see below). Second, you can set the default portion. Third, you can edit the actual calorie, carb and nutrition information.

Renaming an Item

Figwee My View Rename Item

Setting the Default Portion

Edit My Foods Item

You can set the default portion size of any My Foods item. The default portion is the one that will be selected when you add the food to the Food Diary. If you usually eat a certain amount of a particular food, setting the default portion in My Foods makes making diary entries really simple. To set the default portion of a My Foods item, click the "pencil" button next to the food you wish to edit, then use the PortionRight dialog just as you would with any Food Diary entry. You can also right-click on the My Foods item and choose "Edit default serving" from the context menu.

Editing Nutrition Values

Edit Nutrition Info

You can change the calorie, carbs, and other nutrition information for any Figwee food item. You might want to do this to more precisely match a particular brand of food you consume regularly. To edit the nutrition information for a food item, it must fist be added to My Foods. Next, right-click on the My Foods item and select "Edit Nutrition Info" from the context menu.

My Food Items in Food Diary Search. All of your My Foods items are also available from the Search dialog when adding to the food diary. That is, to use a My Foods item, you can either find it in the My Foods list itself, or you can click on the Add button above the food diary view and search for it along with the built in Figwee items. Your choice.

Making it Easier. Drag and Drop can be a little tricky on some internet browsers and slower computers. The fastest way to add a My Foods item to the food diary view is probably to click on the item photo. Hold your mouse still when clicking on the food photo, lest your browser think you are trying to initiate a drag and drop operation.

Grouping Items By Color

Figwee My Foods Group By Color

If you right-click on an item in the My Foods list, a special context menu will appear. A group of choices on this menu allow you to set a tab color for the item. Sorting the List
